Business Development Executive - Chinese speaking (ref. no. NBT30)

The Business Development Executive will be required to promote the company’s services in Asia and provide support services to international clients.

Main responsibilities

  • Assisting, setting up meetings, corresponding, liaising and networking with both local and foreign clients, in particular, Asian clients, and managing customer relations;
  • Promoting the company’s services in Asia and to inform the company of any new opportunities that these markets can offer; and
  • Carrying out day-to-day duties commensurate with the role.

Knowledge, skills, and experience

  • Fluent in spoken and written Chinese and English;
  • Knowledgeable about the Asian markets;
  • Excellent communication skills; and
  • Experience in sales/marketing and customer care is required.

Previous experience of working in a business development role is necessary. We are looking for individuals with the potential to grow along with the organisation. Tailor-made training will be provided to the chosen candidate.

Client Liaison Officer - Chinese speaking (ref. no. NBT29)

The International Client Services Department at Nexia BT is seeking to recruit a Client Liaison Officer to join our growing team. The Client Liaison Officer shall provide a wide range of liaison and support services to international clients.

Main responsibilities

  • Acting as the client liaison on behalf of the Firm;
  • Assisting clients with relocation programmes;
  • Checking and verifying documentation;
  • Translating and interpreting to and from Chinese (Mandarin)/English;
  • Organising visit programmes and accompanying clients to meetings;
  • Ensuring the upkeep of accurate records;
  • Undertaking market research;
  • Performing routine administrative duties; and
  • Engaging in other duties commensurate with the role as required.

 Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Be dynamic, highly organised, self-starters with a passion for professional and client service excellence;
  • Be at home in a hard-working, but fun, team environment;
  • Have excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese (Mandarin essential, Cantonese desirable);
  • Have strong inter-personal and customer relations skills;
  • Have experience of using the main IT software packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and
  • Be resilient and able to work flexible hours.

Accounts Semi-Senior (ref. no. NBT28)

The selected candidate will be assigned a diverse portfolio of International clients, with varying accounting requirements. The Accounts Semi-Senior will make part of a dedicated team, providing assistance to junior staff, but at the same time receiving support as needed from senior colleagues.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing a portfolio of International clients;
  • Bookkeeping and preparation of periodic management accounts;
  • Preparing Financial Statements for audit, in accordance with applicable reporting standards;
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns and recap statements;
  • Ensuring all deadlines are met;
  • Operating as an effective point of contact for all matters specific to the clients assigned; and
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients.

Knowledge, skills and experience

The ideal candidate should:

  • Be currently reading for an ACCA or ACA qualification;
  • Be proficient in MS Office (particularly MS Excel);
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Have a minimum of one-year work experience in a similar position; and
  • Be able to work both on own initiative and in a team.

Accountancy Students (ref. no. NBT27)

We are currently looking for students willing to gain experience in accountancy and advisory while still reading for their degree. Depending on the level of expertise, we are offering the opportunity for students in their final years of reading their masters in accounts at the University of Malta, or in their final years of ACCA / ACA qualification to join our team and garner experience in these areas working alongside professionals. All projects are handled within a team and as a student, you will be actively involved in every step, working with senior staff who will mentor you along the way. Audit Senior (ref. no. NBT26)

The Senior within the Audit department is expected to meet client commitments on audit engagements by executing audits and completing audit files within the specified timeframe of the engagement. The successful candidate will be required to lead an audit team to provide specific audit engagement services to clients within multiple industries to the highest standard expected of Nexia BT employees.

Induction and continuous training on our audit methodology, procedures and software used will be given to the successful candidate.

The ideal candidate should:

  • be in possesion of a University degree in accounts or an ACCA qualification;
  • have a strong commitment to professional and client service excellence;
  • have an eye for detail;
  • have sound computer literacy;

The Junior within the Audit department is expected to meet client commitments on audit engagements by executing small and medium-sized engagements and completing audit files within the specified timeframe of the engagement. The successful candidate is also expected to contribute and assist other team members to execute and complete large engagements to the highest standard expected of Nexia BT employees.

Tax Advisor (ref. no. NBT21)

An opportunity has arisen for a Tax Lawyer to join our Tax Advisory Services team. The chosen candidate will be mainly engaged in providing tax advisory services to the Firm’s local and international client base.

The ideal candidate should:

  • Have a good knowledge of Malta’s tax laws and worked as a tax advisor
  • Have a minimum of 3 years’ work experience in the field of direct and indirect taxation;

Corporate Services Officer (ref. no. NBT20)

An opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Services Officer to join our team. 

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

  • Assist clients with the incorporation and administration of companies;
  • Support and liaison with an international client portfolio;
  • Provide client support and act as a liaison with regulatory authorities and banks; and
  • Supervise policies and procedures to promote compliance with statutory requirements.

Accounts Team Leader (ref. no. NBT19)

The Accounts Team Leader will be responsible for the review of work carried out by junior staff members. The ideal candidate will engage in meetings with clients, compile and analyse reports and mentor more junior staff in the Accounting Department.  

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating operations of the accounts team;
  • Completing all statutory returns and other ad-hoc reports as required;
  • Ensuring schedules and deadlines are met;
  • Ensuring the timely and successful submission of accounts related documentation;
  • Operating as the lead point of contact for all matters specific to our clients;
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships; and
  • Providing training and support to the accounts team.

Knowledge, skills and experience

The ideal candidate should:

  • Be either a fully qualified accountant or in the final stages of obtaining an ACCA or ACA qualification;
  • Experience in a similar role will be considered an asset;
  • Be proficient in MS Office (particularly MS Excel);

Head of Legal (ref. no. NBT17)

An opportunity has arisen for a Head of Legal to lead the firm’s legal team. The chosen candidate will manage and oversee a team of lawyers within the International Client Services Department.  

Responsibilities

  • Managing and leading a team of lawyers;
  • Contributing to the business’s strategy and decision making processes alongside department leaders;
  • Advising the firm on legal and corporate matters;
  • Mentoring and training staff within the legal team; and
  • Developing new service lines and implementing best practice in service delivery.

Knowledge, skills and experience

The ideal candidate should:

  • Be a qualified lawyer with a strong academic background;
  • Have a minimum of 7 years’ work experience within the legal sector;
  • Have exposure in legal, corporate and the financial services sectors;

The Accounts Semi-Senior will be responsible for bookkeeping and accounts preparation; VAT compliance; compilation of annual reports; and any other task which will contribute to the efficient and effective working of the International Accounting department. 

Responsibilities

  • Managing of International portfolio of clients;
  • Preparation of management accounts;
  • Preparation of Financial Statements and VAT compliance reports;
  • Ensuring schedules and deadlines are met;
  • Operating as the lead point of contact for all matters specific to his/her clients; and
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients.

Knowledge, skills and experience

The ideal candidate should:

  • Be currently reading for an ACCA or ACA qualification
  • Be proficient with MS Office (particularly MS Excel);
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Have a proven work experience in an accounts position with a minimum of one-year experience preferably in an accounting firm;
  • Work on own initiative and be able to work in a team; and
  • Have the ability to handle a portfolio of clients with different accounting requirements.
